“Spinnerette is the sound of a sweaty black leather glove holding a lollipop’s stick, shoving it into crushed glass before offering you the first lick” is the first sentence on Spinnerette’s bio page. Such a description would leave you wondering what possible type of music this could be. Something bittersweet, but mostly sweet. Some time after a bad break from the Distillers, Brody Dalle collected Alain Johannes (Eleven, QOTSA), Tony Bevilacqua (Distillers), and Jack Irons (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Eleven) to collaborate on something together. That ended up being Spinnerette.
Brody Dalle’s voice sends me chills – really good ones. Sweet yet sour, Spinnerette will be pleasing either way. These are prime sing-a-long, dance-a-long songs.
