If Orla Gartland could be anything at all, it would be “a great big ginger cat.” A 17-year old singer/songwriter from Dublin, Ireland, she is known for her brilliantly quirky folk pop and catchy melodies. Bursting with personality and hilarious facial expressions, her songs tie together by distinctive, celtic-infused vocals and trademark-animated live performances. Her influences are Laura Marling, Regina Spektor and Joni Mitchell.
After gaining popularity on YouTube, Orla independently released her first single, Devil on my Shoulder, on June 17th, 2012, which ranked number 10 on iTunes in over 17 countries. Unsigned, she is currently doing what she does best – making music and playing shows. When she grows up, she wants to be a musician and keep finding inspiration from the people she meets in life. “I can’t imagine doing anything else,” she says.
