I’ve have searched high and low to bring you the very best, no-fuss smoothie recipes. My secret to making smoothies super easy and hassle free? Keep plastic bags in your freezer filled with smoothie ingredients all ready to go. Just take one out, pour frozen plain yogurt and fruit of your choice into your blender and hit the button. Delicious, nutritious smoothies in minutes!

1. Super Green Smoothie
The super green smoothie is ideal for detoxing, especially if you’ve over indulged in a few too many wines over the weekend! Forget a big, greasy burger and fries – this will dehydrate your body even more and will only make you feel better as a quick fix. Your body is a complex machine and just like any machine, it needs top quality fuel to run to the best of its ability. All you need for the super green smoothie is a banana (chopped into chunks), half an apple (diced), six ounces of vanilla yogurt, a cup of grapes and the all important secret ingredient – one and a half cups of washed spinach leaves. Don’t be put off by the spinach – the sweetness from the fruit and yogurt blends perfectly, so you won’t even notice that you’re actually getting part of your daily quota of leafy green vegetables!

2. Strawberry Oatmeal Smoothie
My favourite breakfast alternative is a mouth-watering strawberry oatmeal smoothie. This is great for busy gurls on the go. Just down one of these delicious breakfast treats before you head out to work and you’ll definitely have a spring in your step all day. Breakfast really is the most important meal of the day, so do it right! Start your day the way you mean to go on – full of energy. Just because you have to rush straight out doesn’t mean you have to go without a tasty and filling breakfast. Take one cup of healthy soy milk, half a cup of oats, one banana (broken into chunks), a handful of frozen strawberries, half a teaspoon of vanilla extract (or vanilla yogurt) and ½ teaspoons of sugar (optional). Pour yourself a cup of this yummy, pink strawberry oatmeal breakfast smoothie and you’re good to go.

3. Berry Beauty Blast Smoothie
Blueberries are rich in natural anti-oxidants so it’s no surprise that they’re a key ingredient in smoothies that are good for the skin and complexion. A scrumptious berry beauty blast smoothie is great for giving your skin a nutritious boost. Get all the nutrients you need for a healthy glow in this simple smoothie and repair the damage created by processed food. Drink one of these every day and get some much needed natural fatty acids to calm your complexion and reduce any redness, puffiness or patchiness. To get your beauty blast simply blend one quarter of a cup of blueberries, one quarter of a cup of strawberries and one quarter of a cup of raspberries, along with a one quarter of a cup of kale and one cup of cold water. 4. Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
Last but not least, a protein energy smoothie is so important on gym days. After an hour of cardio or weights, your muscles need replenishing so that they can get stronger and healthier. We think that this chocolate and peanut butter protein smoothie is well worth going to the gym for! This smoothie is rich in vitamin E, niacin, folate, manganese AND protein, as well as being a good source of mono-saturated fat and heart-protective antioxidants. It almost sounds too good to be true! For this cup of nutritious heaven put one cup of skimmed milk, one banana, two tablespoons of peanut butter and three to five ice cubes into your blender. Then add two scoops of protein shake in chocolate flavour and blend until smooth and creamy. This chocolate and peanut butter smoothie will give you more than half of your recommended daily protein intake, meaning that all your hard work at the gym will be all the more worth it! There’s no point slogging it out on the treadmill if you are not going to provide your body with everything it needs to be stay strong, supple and super fit!
